For more than 30 years we’ve been passionate about quality craftsmanship in watches, clocks, weather stations, barometers and tide clocks — building a trusted destination for precision instruments that combine science, style and timeless design.

Our First Website

Long before e-commerce was what it is today, we launched our very first website under the name Watch Doctor 2003. It was simple by today’s standards — clean pages, basic product listings, and a strong focus on service — but it marked a significant step forward for our business.

At the time, online retail in New Zealand was still in its infancy. Yet we believed early on that customers wanted convenience without sacrificing expertise. That first website allowed us to reach beyond our local community and connect with customers throughout New Zealand.

From our beginnings in Christchurch, we’ve grown from a specialist retailer into a trusted name across New Zealand, Australia and beyond — while staying true to what matters most: genuine service, expert knowledge and carefully selected products.

What’s Ahead for 2026

One of the highlights will be a special trip to Germany to visit the factories of Fischer Instruments and Barigo in person. There’s nothing quite like walking the factory floor, meeting the people behind the instruments, and seeing first-hand the precision and care that goes into every dial, movement and casing.

It’s an opportunity to strengthen relationships, explore new models, and ensure we continue offering the very best to our customers. We’re looking forward to sharing insights, photos and perhaps even a few surprises from behind the scenes.

Alongside that, in 2026 we plan to:
